An audio recording of the interview of world renowned Orientalist late Krishnakanta Handiqui (1898-1982) taken by noted educationist and socialist leader late Ajit Kumar Sharma at the former's residence in Jorhat (February, 1982). Sharma was among the fortunate few with whom the reclusive scholar maintained personal touch with. Handique shares previously unknown details about his intellectual journey and about his seven year long stay in Europe. He also expresses his opinion regarding the cause of dissatisfaction among the tribal population of Assam. This was to be the first and the last of the six part series of interviews. Handiqui passed away three months later on June 7.
